Moving...
...sucks! I hate all the packing and loading and lifting and unpacking and cleaning, etc. But doing it with at two year old....double sucks! It wasn't so bad a couple of weeks ago when I was packing up stuff from our office but when I moved on too Ivy's room...oh no no no. Of course Ivy thought it was great fun putting stuff in the boxes but when I taped them shut...not so much. After she realized exactly what was going on she would be playing and turn around and realize some of her toys were in the box and she would yell "NO MOMMY NO!" Then she would pull a toy out like her sock monkey and say "No Mommy, Monkey stay out here!" "No Mommy, Handy Mandy stay out here!" and then of course a battle would take place where I would try and explain this is so we could take her toys to the new house. Well, she could have cared less....I was scolded several times. I think she even told me to get out a couple of times or go sit in timeout. Of course I waited until the last possible moment to pack up her favorite things like her "Little People". She is very protective of them. She probably had 50 of these "Little People" but if 1 is missing she notices!
When moving day actually arrived....it was the pollen storm of the century! We could barely see the houses across the street when the wind would blow! I felt like one of those weather channel idiots that stands out in the rain during a hurricane only instead of water it was yellow pollen. YUCK!....and you guessed it....triple sucks! And I never thought I would say this but you know what QUADRUPLE sucks? Having extreme laryngitis and a double ear infection and a nagging cough that is so bad I thought my eyeballs would pop out!
I'm glad it's over but now my house is a wreck b/c I wasn't able to do anything this weekend and some idiot didn't put weather stripping on our doors so pollen is coming in under them so everything in my house is yellow too!
I promise to post pictures soon but I've been with out high speed internet for the past few days and all the camera stuff is packed up.
glad my little girl is not the only bossy one who scolds her mother! (wonder where they get that from??) :)
Congrats, can't wait to see the house!
