Surprise of my life...
It was a rough week last week. It started off great. It was Masters Monday and we got to go with Chris's Uncle Randell and Aunt Libby.

I could go on forever with Master's pictures because it's so beautiful and my husband is a good photographer...but more on that later.
Shortly after that it was downhill.
My Dad had kept Ivy Sunday night and Monday while we were at the Masters. When he brought her home her fever was 103. We ended up taking her to the ER because it wouldn't come down after two doses of medicine. When it spiked to 105 I freaked a little. I work in Neurology and the thought of a seizure related to fever scared me. We got home at 3 AM. As soon as we got Ivy settled and went back to bed it started storming. And not just rain banging on the roof...the wind sounded scary. Chris looked out the window and yelled at me to get downstairs. I grabbed the dog and he grabbed the kid. A tornado ripped right down our road...very scary.

By Thursday, Ivy was still running a fever and after being on antibiotics for 2 days I was convinced she was having an allergic reaction to it because she had started breaking out in a rash. Took her to the after hours clinic and then went home to crash.
I forgot to mention that our power was out until Wed. afternoon because of the storm so we had taken most of the contents of our fridge and freezer over to my Grandma's house. I left the eggs there and my Mom was insisting that she bring them to me. I was moody and tired and I'm pretty sure I responded with "I don't need those damn eggs tonight" but my Mom was bringing those eggs whether I wanted them or not. We agreed that since my cousin Emily was in town then if she was determined to bring the eggs over then she could just bring Emily's stuff too and she could stay the night with Ivy.
I was in the bathroom downstairs when I heard my Mom walk in with Emily. I walked out of the bathroom and it was dark because the hallway light wasn't on. I could see another girl standing there and it took me a minute to realize that it was Jeanna. I said "Hey I wasn't expecting to see you!?!?!?" And then I saw a shadow on my garage wall and my heart started pounding because I could tell it was someone big and I was worried that some random crazy dude had just walked into my garage. I reached out to slam the door and then this guy walked in....

I fell on the floor in hysterics. Literally. FELL.ON.THE.FLOOR.
And he picked me up. And until April 22nd all will be right with the world. It's his R&R and the sneaky little twirp had told us that he wasn't getting one. I still have to say good-bye again but this time only for a couple of months instead of a year. Oh, and Jeanna knew the whole time. She helped him pull a fast one on all of us.
Here is the video.

Oh my goodness! This is precious. This video brought tears like only a preggo woman could cry.

I don't even know what to say...
All bitter-sweet.
Marti,
Thank you for sharing this. We are relieved that Ivy is okay now. Was it an allergy? We know you and your family enjoyed Cliff's visit beyond our comprehension. Every time Jimmy thinks of Cliff he remembers the night you guys came over to visit prior to his first day in first grade, and Cliff saying in that little boy voice that all six-year-olds have, "But I can't even wead!" And as time has marched on,not only can he "wead", he can do sooooo much more. We love and miss you guys. Hope you get this comment!
