The rest of my catching up...
April and May always prove to be REALLY busy months that leave us spinning in circles. So when things finally start to slow down a little bit for us and we have free time to spend together as a family we generally take it and so this little blog gets neglected. I do my best to keep it updated because I enjoy blogging but it's so hard to keep up with while working full time and taking care of a family.
April
Ivy had a music program at her school that was adorable! It's always really hard to get good pictures because it's so crowded. Before the program starts they always do an art auction to raise money for the school. Each class does a big art project together and then the parents bid on it. Ivy's class each painted an animal from the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? and one of the parents turned it into a quilt. Chris and I won the auction for the quilt but I won't tell you how much we bid on it....ouch is all I have to say...but hey it was for a good cause and it's a great keepsake for Ivy.

We dyed some Easter Eggs this year and it was lots of fun. The first time we tried to dye Easter Eggs Ivy was only 18 months old and it was a bit of a challenge. Last year we didn't get to do it because we were moving...so this year Ivy really got into it. She had lots of fun directing me on which eggs should be red or yellow, which eggs were to be drawn on first, and if they should soak longer or pull them out early. She's very particular about things so I let her do most of the dipping and dying.

And then there was the "Easter Egg Hunt of 2011". The whole neighborhood got together and made sure there was lots of eggs and lots of treats for the kids. Ivy had a blast running around with her BFF Mea, she was more concerned with making sure Mea found lots of eggs rather than putting them in her own basket. These girls are so cute together.

And of course the Easter Bunny came and Ivy got all kinds of goodies.

May
Every year at Ivy's school they have a Mother's Day tea and we have to make fun hats to wear. This year I let Ivy pick out some ribbon and flowers and we just embellished some hats that we already had.

Ivy had a blast at her spring carnival too. I had volunteered to work the popcorn and snow cone machine so Ivy got to run around a lot with just her Daddy until my shift was over. And boy did she had a blast! Of course the bounce houses were her favorite thing. She seriously went up and down the slide so fast that we couldn't quit laughing at her. She was passing kids as she went up and then she would jump in front of them and just plop down on her booty go down. She was not your average slider...for every one time another kid went down, I bet Ivy went down five times.

Ever since I became a Mom I've felt kind of weird about Mother's Day. I feel like there is a lot of pressure for someone to do something big and special and it really stresses me out for some reason. So my Mother's Day was quiet and simple. All three of us slept in until about 8:30 and then we went and got donuts for breakfast. I seriously can't remember the last time I slept until 8:30! It was so nice!

So other than Memorial Day weekend and all of June I think I'm caught up now! Ha!

hey, first of all I'm jealous because I need to catch up too. I seem to run into technical difficulties every time I try to blog because of uploading the pictures. I can't get them to look just right either...yours look great! I see that you must save them side-by-side and upload like that instead of individually and try to put them side-by-side (which NEVER works for me). Maybe I need a blogging tutoring session from you!
Anyway, enough about that...she DOES look WAY too grown up! and those pics in that hat form Mother's Day are PRICELESS!!! love and miss yall
