A couple of things I've been meaning to blog about...

...just haven't had the time. A couple of days after Christmas we headed to Atlanta to have lunch with some of my friends from college. It was a long drive for lunch but it was very much worth it. Of course I would never think twice about getting to spend a few hours with my best friend Mandy. Mandy makes the world a better place. She is such an amazingly beautiful person and she never meets a stranger. I remember when I met her in college. She had a class with my roommate Estee and she came back from class one day and said I met this really nice girl today her name is Mandy and she lives on the floor below us. I didn't think twice about it, I think my response was "that's cool." So a couple of days later she brings Mandy upstairs to introduce us...Mandy walks in and I have never seen her before and she says "Hey I know you we have Math together!" To which I responded "We do?" And we all know that I don't make friends easily but from that moment on Mandy and I were friends. We've had up and down moments just like all friends and now she lives in Washington D.C. so when we have a chance to see each other we have to take it! There aren't many people I would drive halfway across the country for to be in their wedding but I did it for her and would do it again in a minute. We have long phone coversations where we laugh, cry, vent, etc, and I know she will always be there for me and I will be there for her. Her husband Jeremy is wonderful too and has also become a good friend. Of course I do hope he knows how lucky he is to have her.

Here are a few more pictures from the day. I also got to see my friend JJ and his wife Kelli and they are always a pleasure to be around!

Almost the whole gang from West Ga., we are missing Cheryl and her husband Patrick but they just had a new baby boy and live in Ohio, so we'll let them slide this time. :)
The Ward's and the Rockett's. If Mandy and Jeremy have a baby girl one day then her and Ivy will be best friends or if they have a boy him and Ivy will have to get married...they have no other choice. :)
With JJ and Kelli...JJ is one of the greatest guys I know and his wife Kelli is so sweet! We love when we get to hang out with them. Luckily they live near my Aunt and Uncle in Henry County so we get to see them two or three times a year. :)

Now onto another fun event....we had a Hughes family reunion in January. We haven't had a family reunion for at least 5 years. It had been way to long. We all got together in Greenwood and we had a blast, of course there were lots of new babies to kiss and hug and there was lots of good food to eat. However my cousin Anna apparantly brought along a stomach virus with her and we all got sick the next day but I guess we'll forgive her. :) Here's a picture of the whole gang (minus about 10 people that couldn't make it)And the chair is empty because Uncle Junior didn't want to come in there (he said we were all too loud and I can't blame him). Now it's great fun just sit and watch the three Hughes sisters sit together and talk. It's like three cackling hens and they just won't quit! I love my Grandma so much and her two sisters are just as great! And here's a picture of my girl with my cousin Amanda's little girl Addison. They are so cute and they played well together, they had a blast sitting on this little tiny couch, it was the cutest thing! I wish they got to see each other more often.

Go ahead, show me some love....leave me a comment or thought.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
