Our new house...

...WOW! I never thought things would move this quickly. We met with the builder on January 18th and we have a proposed closing date of March 30th. We were suppose to close on April 30th but the builder said he could build the house before then and would have to go really really slow to drag it out until then. He said if we agreed to close on March 30th then he would knock some money off some of the extras we wanted so we agreed. Then Augusta went through a spell of really cold weather and lots and lots of rain. It was seriously raining every other day for three weeks which is unheard of here. So needless to say nothing was happening with the house. We had one pretty day of weather and they managed to clear the lot, then some more rain, then another pretty day (but freezing) and my Mom called me to say she drove by and they were putting pipe in the ground....then we got 5 inches of snow (again unheard of). We were in Atlanta when it snowed but we had just assumed that nothing happened on the house. Now of course two days after the snow it was all melted and looking pretty so we drove by our lot and our slab had been poured!!! We were so excited! Although it looked really tiny to us and we were thinking there is no way our house can fit on that!
Now we took these pictures on Sunday, February 14th. Now Chris sometimes doesn't have to work on Friday so last Friday, February 19th he drove by to see if the framing of the house had even been started......and he was shocked at what he saw. The entire house was framed! We drove back by on Sunday and snapped a couple of pictures and yes it did fit on the slab! :)

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
