Oh Sweet Lazy Saturday...

...where have you been? I have missed you very much!

I don't think I have had a truly "lazy" Saturday since before I was pregnant. I didn't expect this Saturday to be any different...especially when I was awoken at 6:30 by a very sleepy toddler voice saying "Mommy" down the hallway. I reluctantly got up and went to get her as Chris laid next to me snoring. Normally when she gets up she is ready to go and start the day but today when I picked her up she just nuzzled close to me and laid her head on my shoulder. I took her back to my room expecting for her to ask for Mickey Mouse on TV so that we could lay and snuggle together until she decided it was time to eat. But she didn't ask for it...instead she just laid down sucking her thumb and placed her other hand on my cheek. I dozed back off not expecting it to last very long.

The next thing I remember is hearing Pollack whining because he needed to go out. I looked at the clock and WOW! It was after 9 o'clock. That felt good! Ivy and Chris were snuggled close together breathing deeply, it was so sweet. I let Pollack out and then he hurried back up the steps and got back under his blanket....I crawled back in the bed and just laid there staring at Ivy's sweet face. After a few minutes I woke Chris up and then woke Ivy up. We went downstairs and shared a bowl of cereal after mine was empty she wanted some of Daddy's.

Then we played hide and seek behind the curtains in our dining room then we played the "run" game. This is where she just runs around the house and wants me to do it with her. Then we went upstairs and she picked out her own clothes....and she definitely has her own style. Nothing matched and she had about 8 hair clips in her hair. Then we danced and read books. Daddy went to play golf and we went outside to play with her car and draw with sidewalk chalk. It was such a beautiful day out. It was a bit windy and I have been sick so we cleaned up and came in...she didn't want to come in but we didn't have a melt down (and that's always nice).

I fixed Ivy a PB&J and gave her some goldfish to eat while I had a conversation with my dear friend Mr. Sudafed PE. Then we laid on the couch together and watched her new favorite show Chugginton (which I have saved on TIVO for emergencies). The theme song is permanently stuck in my head. http://chuggington.com/#/chugger/videos

Then Peggy our realtor called and we had to leave so some one could look at our house. I of course ran around frantically trying to pick up all the things we had left laying out and then we went to GG's and we were lazy over there. We played in her living room and listened to old time country music and just listened to her talk because we know she is lonesome.

It truly was a much needed and much deserved lazy Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
