Disney: Day 4
I'm not sure what it is about Disney World that makes normally easy going kids have meltdowns. Ivy had one EVERY.SINGLE.MORNING. I mean seriously. I wanted to write a letter.....Dear Disney, I thought you were the happiest place on earth?
So every morning we would wake Ivy up and she would instantly have a meltdown. I know this meltdown mostly had to do with her being tired and not on her normal diet but it was still very trying first thing in the morning. We would just sit there with her until she would get it out of her system and then go about our business. It would last about ten minutes or so and then she would be calm enough to get dressed and ready so we could go eat breakfast before we headed to the park.

On Wednesday we headed to the Animal Kingdom because we had a breakfast reservation at The Tusker House. Getting Ivy out the door for that was tons of fun. No reservations will be made for breakfast on our next trip. Of course once we reminded Ivy that it was a character breakfast she was thrilled. She was extra excited because Daisy Duck was suppose to be there and in her own words....."I HAVEN'T MET DAISY YET!!!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE SO GREAT!!!!"

We had about an hour before our reservations so we went ahead and rode on the safari so Ivy could see some animals. She loved it and it was a great time to do it because it wasn't very hot and all the animals were out and moving around. Of course Ivy's favorite animal is still the Giraffe and I was hoping that we would see lots of them. I think there were about six total and they were SO CLOSE to our jeep. Ivy was beaming with excitement!

The Tusker House food was pretty good but it was buffett style and I'm not the biggest fans of buffetts. Donald Duck was outside and we got a chance to take a rare family photo.

Goofy was the leader of a parade around the dining room. All of the kids got to leave their tables and follow him around while banging on drums and shaking tamborines.

After breakfast we went to see The Lion King show and it was GREAT! All 3 of us loved it. Then as soon as we left the show Ivy spotted Pocahontas. I'm really not sure what her fascination with Pocahontas is about but she LOVES her. She has never seen the movie and neither have I but Ivy is very attracted to her and even told me while we were there that she wanted to be Pocahontas for the next Halloween - we'll see if that lasts.

We left The Animal Kingdom shortly before lunch because Ivy was very G.R.U.M.P.Y. We didn't want to become THOSE parents that lose their minds at Disney World. We went back to the hotel and forced Ivy to take a nap. That was not a fun task because she quit taking naps when she was two and hasn't looked back. But she slept for almost 3 hours....and so did we. It was nice.
Then we got up and went to The Magic Kingdom again so that we could watch the fireworks. We got there around dinner time and we were hoping to visit with Rapunzel but the wait was at least two hours. We told Ivy how long it was and how many rides she could ride instead. We walked to the front of the line so that Ivy could peek in and get a glimpse of her. I was worried that would only make her want to see her more but when she noticed that it was only Rapunzel she said "WHERE'S EUGENE?" The Disney cast member explained that Eugene wasn't there. It think Ivy totally has a crush on Eugene because when she found out she wouldn't get to meet him too she was over it. We were very happy to be off the hook with Rapunzel.
We rode several rides including Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, The People Mover, The Mad Tea Party, The Carousel, and we visited the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. I highly recommend that show!

Then we watched some EPIC fireworks before heading back to our room.
