Friday Flashback....First dip in the pool

This was Ivy's first dip in the pool. I was a little nervous, she was only 8 months old and had never been in any water other than the bath tub so I was worried she would be a little overwhelmed by that much water. We went over to Barbara & Jimmy's house for a cookout to go along with Ivy's first swim. They have been family friends for years and my brother and I actually call them Aunt and Uncle. I remember spending many days at their pool in the summer. My favorite thing was diving off of the diving board. They were the only people I knew that had a diving board and I thought I was sooooo good at diving...like I thought I could win the gold in the Olympics...for real! Of course I'm sure everything I did was terrible but they always cheered me on.

Ivy took to the water like a fish and the rest is history. I thought it was way to cold for her but she didn't mind in the least. She loves to swim and play in the water. We made quite a few firsts that night with Ivy...not only was it her first dip in the pool but she also had her first bite of hot dog and watermelon...she loved both! We are very much looking forward to many more memories with Aunt Barbara and Uncle Jimmy!

Happy Friday!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
