29 & feelin' fine...and a party pooper
FINALLY!!!!! A Happy Post! (and yes I'm posting this a month and a half after my actual birthday...oops)
So we drove back from Orlando on my birthday. It wasn't too bad, although it did kinda suck that we left the happiest place on earth on my birthday. We stopped in St. Augustine at the outlets and I got to go to Nine West....one of my favorites! And Chris bought me four pairs of shoes!!! He's the best...yes ladies, he's taken! And then he ate some Chinese food and the results of that were not good. We made it home but then he was deathly ill that night and all the next day. Yikes. Ivy and I spent the night unpacking everything and then sat out on the back porch and celebrated my birthday with Mickey Mouse and Dolphin and we ate some treats that my wonderful Mama gave me. Oh, and we listened to my new Richard Ashcroft CD (also from my Mama) that I've been dying for...he's amazing!

But I hit the big 29 and you know what that means...knock knock, it's 30. This never really bothered me before but a couple of months ago I realized that one of my first crushes (the one and only Eddie Vedder) is 45. This really struck a cord with me. How was it possible that he isn't 25 anymore! Seriously if he's 45 that means I'm almost 30. I had a mini meltdown, but I'm okay now. No worries, I'll feel blessed to make it to 30. So I shall give you 29 things I love (in no particular order because I have a hard time actually organizing my thoughts)...and I'll try to make this a tradition every year.
1. Eddie Vedder (yes still)
2. My husbands positive outlook
3. Ivy counting, everything over 12 is "inteen" until she hits 20
4. The fact that my husband cleans the wood floors and I don't have too
5. Pinot Noir
6. Watching Ivy splash in puddles after a rain
7. Skype
8. Ivy going down the stairs pretending she is Cinderella and losing a slipper
9. Our screened in porch
10. Watching Hummingbirds
11. Ivy's excitement over going to school
12. Bit-O-Honey's
13. Fresh flowers on our table
14. Ivy saying "Pinocchio" a.k.a. "Meenokeeo"
15. My craft room
16. My new MacBook
17. Phone calls with Heather
18. Lily Allen
19. Ivy saying "Yes I Do!"
20. A pantry that's IN the kitchen
21. More time with my hubby because of less yard work
22. When Ivy asks me to sing (because heaven knows no one else will)
23. Girl nights with Kimberly
24. Meatloaf, only the one my husband makes
25. Ivy's new converse shoes
26. The new layout my hubby made for my blog, much more picture friendly :)
27. Toasted Coconut Ice cream from Kilwin's (this will probably be on my list every year)
28. Margaritas (this will be too)
29. Life :)
Now, onto my party!
Mom always takes me out to dinner for my birthday. It's usually the whole family...Mom, Me, Chris, Ivy, Clifford, Jeanna, and GG. But with Clifford not being here this year I didn't want to really go out. I wanted be relaxed and have fun. So she offered to cook dinner...I said okay and immediately wanted to tell her that I wanted cubed steak with gravy, butter beans, mashed potatoes and sweet tea (my favorite that she made while I was growing up) but then I realized that wasn't very relaxing for her. So I instead asked her to get $5 pizza's from Little Caesar's and make me a chocolate cake. I think she liked that idea...no messy kitchen and easy clean up! We went to the pool in Mom's neighborhood and we had the whole thing to ourselves...it was so nice!
I don't think I've had my picture taken in a bikini since I was a teenager but Chris made me pose. And I did want some of me jumping in the pool but I wasn't going to post them on the blog but Chris said he would be mad if I didn't. I'm a little embarrassed but Chris knows the username and password to my blog so if I didn't do it I'm sure he would. He says it's good for me, I say whatever.

Ivy had a blast swimming with her new swimmers that I bought her in Florida because she thinks she is such a big girl swimming around by herself in them. She also "taught" us how to swim and told us how to kick our feet and use our hands. And she pranced her cute little hiney around the pool very proudly.

Oh, and this girl LOVES pizza!

And at one point while I was floating in the pool relaxing Ivy decided that she wanted to go over to the little kiddie pool. I noticed I didn't hear her making any noise or splashing so I asked Chris to check on her since I couldn't see her very well to make sure she wasn't pooping...with Ivy, quiet = pooping! She's potty trained and for the most part does really well. Chris said "she's fine, she's just chillin' and lookin' cute." I said "Are you sure?" He took a couple of pictures and maybe it's just me but this cute little look doesn't say "I'm just chillin'."

And there you have it folks..the party pooper! So I got out of the pool and cleaned her up and of course we had to leave b/c Ivy had no clothes or swimsuit...just one lone little pull up pulled from Mom's glove box which she did not want to put on! She immediately went running back to the pool, but don't worry we didn't really let her play anymore..but she was just too cute shaking her booty at us so we had to take some pictures. By the way, if your kids legs are just the slightest bit moist you have to have super human strength to pull up the pull up!

And one last shot of the night of me and Jeanna. She's super sweet and I love her! She fits in perfectly with our family and it feels like we've known her forever. She had to go to work so she couldn't swim which is why she looks extra cute and I look like crap. She got me the sweetest little necklace that I'm in love with, sterling silver with two little hearts in an oval and it says "Sisters." I always wanted a sister...now I have one! While we're on the subject of Jeanna check out her cute little blog...The Longer the Waiting, The Sweeter the Kiss.

That was a great relaxing afternoon/evening. Everyone enjoyed it. I will fix you cubed steak another day.
You is one hot mama....just sayin' :o) I had fun at your birthday party!! Too bad Ivy pooped out. ha ... :)
Yea! I made the list this year! Thanks! I love girls night out with you too. We need to plan our next one. Just let me know when. By the way, you look great in a bikini. : )
Ba ha ha, I just saw this. Do you still hold your nose when you jump into a pool?
I love you!
