Ivy's first day back at school
So I'm a little late posting this....surprise, surprise! I'm trying really hard to get better and update things on time but it's hard. Between working full time, house cleaning, a husband, an almost 3 year old, a dog, and a sewing class (yep I'm taking a sewing class with Jeanna) - well it's hard! I can always dream that one day I'll be caught up, but I'm not gonna be making any bets that it'll be anytime soon.
So with that being said...
Ivy was super excited about going back to school and having Ms. Amy for a teacher again. We talked about it a lot the week before. And when the first morning finally arrived the first words out of her mouth when I woke her up were "Mommy! I go to school today!"
She was an angel getting ready. She got right up, went potty, ate her breakfast, brushed her teeth, and got dressed without a bit of her usual stubborness. I had taken the day off from work so I could drive her to school and pick her up. I am so very thankful that I have that I have a job where I can take off work to spend some quality time with Ivy on days like that.
Ivy's stubbroness returned when I wanted to take some pictures. She didn't want to look at me or smile for me but I managed to get a couple of cute ones.

One day I'll learn how to not chop off feet when I take a picture. Ooops. |

Ivy's new kicks and she's so proud of them. |
My Mom made the cute little skirt and hat. Once I gave Ivy the hat to wear for some pictures she wouldn't take it off. She finally took it off when Miss Amy asked her to put it in her bag at school.
She was trying so hard to act like she wasn't excited about school but she couldn't keep a straight face. And look, Mom even made her a matching bag.
When I walked in to pick Ivy up she was sitting in the common area on a big rug with all the other kids. She looked like she was having so much fun laughing and giggling. I didn't let her know I was there when I walked in I just stood there and watched for a couple of minutes. She looked so grown up! When she finally saw me standing there she let out a huge gasp and yelled "Mommy!" and I was greeted with a big hug. As soon as we got in the car she started rambling about everything she did. I asked her who she saw at school because I knew there were a few kids from her class last year and she responded with "My friends."
My girl has friends. Not just playmates anymore but friends. I hope everyone thinks she's as cool as I think she is.
sooooo ... I like really LOVE that little girl of yours...and her sweet kicks...
