Stormy Summer Nights
Up until the past couple of weeks we've had a fairly wet summer. I say "fairly" because we usually never get any rain in the summer and everything is dry and dusty. But it has been a little better this year. Most of the time it's rained in the late afternoon or through the night. We've watched lots of rain fall, watched lots of lightening strike, and listened to a lot of thunder roll. We've even had our share of rainbows this summer. I mean we haven't seen anything quite like this but we'll take what we can get. But after a night full of rain Ivy and I have made it a tradition this summer to go splash in the puddles. This is her favorite! She wants to do it every day! She puts on her rain boots and we head outside to let her wear herself out! If has been no rain and there are puddles then she puts the boots on and runs across our front yard saying "Mommy, watch me!". She loves her boots and she gets that honest. She always has to have her clothes changed when we go back inside and it always takes at least half an hour for her to get all her jumping and rock throwing out of the way but she loves it so much and it's worth it. I snapped a few pictures of our last puddle jumping adventure so enjoy!
