Snow much Fun!

Some of the scenic snow pictures that Chris took at his Dad and Grandparents house. It was very beautiful!

We went on a trip to N.C. last weekend to visit Chris's family for Christmas. We arrived late Thursday night with the weather report calling for snow on Friday. We got up Friday morning and there was no snow. I was disappointed...being a Georgia girl I never get to see any snow! We got up and walked up the hill/mountain to Chris's Grandparents house for breakfast...which I might add was very delicious! We sat in the living room visiting Papaw and Mamaw Ward (whom Ivy loved talking too)and it started snowing. It wasn't sticking at first but it looked promising! We walked back down to Arville's house (Chris's Dad) to relax and get ready to go shopping. Well Ivy was tired and grumpy so we let her lay down for a nap. Chris was watching TV and I was laying on the couch staring out the window watching the snow when all of the sudden the flakes were huge and falling really fast. I was so excited I couldn't quit smiling! I even had butterflies in my stomach! I laid there on the couch and watched them fall for about 30 minutes. It was very relaxing and I fell asleep...2 hours later I woke up to find 2 inches of snow on the ground! I could hardly wait for Ivy to wake up! As soon as she did we bundled up and went out side. The snow was falling really hard and fast, I can't say that I enjoyed being slapped in the face by wet snow but I was still excited! Ivy and Pollack on the other hand hated it! Pollack was whining and Ivy was screaming...so much for my fun! We spent the rest of the day in the house and I stared out the window wanting to play like a big kid in the snow!

The next morning when I woke up I looked out the window and OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I've never seen anything like this...a foot of snow on the ground! 12 inches! I was excited and all Chris could think was "Great! I get to shovel snow!" Chris spent about an hour and a half shoveling a path up to our car then we went to eat breakfast with his Grandparents again and once again...delicious! I of course was a big kid and couldn't wait to get outside and play in it! We bundled up and went out because it wasn't actually snowing anymore. Ivy had trouble walking at first and would cry when she fell and her hands touched it (she really hated that). She eventually got over it and loved the snow just as much if not more than I did. Pollack even loved the snow which really surprised me because I basically have to kick him out of the house if it's wet or cold outside for him to do his business! Ivy spent a lot of time outside with her Great Papaw Ward (who is her new best buddy) and he even built her a snowman which was more like a snowblob because the snow was so soft. I didn't have any mittens for Ivy because she obvisously doesn't need them in Augusta so I had to keep making her come inside to warm up her hands! This really made her furious but after a few minutes we would go back out and she would be happy again. Ivy, Pollack, and I had a blast and Chris had a blast watching us!

The road was eventually plowed and we had to leave which was sad for me. But as we were leaving we got to some really beautiful snow in the fields and on the mountains. There is just something magical to me about driving down the road looking at nothing but white with kids playing in a field with each other. It looked so pure! I can't wait to see it again!

This is from our first trip out in the snow on Friday. It was still coming down pretty hard and as you can see as soon as I put Ivy down she went straight to the door crying the whole way! But it made for a neat picture...you can even see the snow falling! The rest of the pictures are from Saturday morning.

Look how deep!

Pollack attempting to make his way through the snow bless his little heart, he really got a workout jumping along behind where we walked so that he could move through it.

Ivy talking to Great Papaw Ward while he's building her snowman.

Ivy with Great Papaw Ward, they had a blast together!

Ivy with her snowman that Great Papaw Ward made for her. She had a lot of fun talking to him and telling us all about him. She kept saying "Hey Fossy!" (Hey Frosty) but she couldn't quite understand why she couldn't bring him inside with her. Whe we finally left she said "Bye Bye Fossy! See you soon!" It melted our hearts!

Hangin' with Daddy

Eating the snow...this was her favorite part!

Just looking cute in her new snow hat from Grandpa Ward and Sherri

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
