"Mommy my feet are dirty!"

This summer Ivy spent a lot of time on the farm with my Dad. He would get up early on Mondays and come pick her up from my house. Then him and Debra (my step-mom who Ivy calls Nana Hannah...long story) would take her to get a Mickey Mouse shaped waffle at the Waffle House. Then they would just spend the day out on the farm together with Mama Hancock.

Ivy loves it when Paw Paw comes to pick her up. I tell her the night before and she takes her bath and goes to bed without a problem and then gets up the next morning and and gets dressed without a problem. I wish she was that good every night and morning.  She loves everything about the farm. She loves just walking around, playing in the sand, playing with the dogs, chasing the cows, swimming in the creek, etc.  There are an endless list of fun things to do out there and I'm glad that she loves it the same way I did as a kid.  I always dress her in clothes that can get dirty or wet because chances are she will be both by the end of the day.

After I get off work I usually go meet them somewhere for dinner. The last time Ivy went, right before school started, we were driving home when I heard her say "Mommy, my feet are dirty, look!" To which I responded with "I'm driving honey, I can't look right now." So when we stopped at a red light I turned around expecting to see the dirty ring around her ankle where her socks were. NOPE. I saw the dirtiest feet I have ever seen in my life! I started laughing hysterically and Ivy said "I know Mommy it's silly!"  When we got home I ran to get the camera but by the time I got back outside she was running around in wet grass from an afternoon rain shower so you can't get the full effect but her feet were FILTHY!

Hopefully you'll get a laugh like I did.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
