Friday Flashback....my wee babe

It's hard for me to believe that this picture was taken 3 years ago.  My wee babe was just 3 weeks old.  We were just learning how to be parents.  We were very sleep deprived but loving every minute (even when I would wake to change and feed Ivy at 2 am just find that she had explosive poop and I would have to clean her up and start a load of laundry).  Chris was still learning how to use his new fancy camera and we were fully confident that we could capture every-single-moment (and we did).

I remember doing this little photoshoot...it was a learning experience that's for sure.  We set up the muslin in our bedroom and Chris was trying to use his new flash (it nearly blinded us a couple of times).  We would get Ivy set up perfectly and then she would start screaming...we would get her calmed down and get her set up perfectly again and she wanted to eat....then set her up perfectly again and she would snuggle down behind the pillows so we couldn't see her face...after several attempts and an hour later we were done.  I picked her up only to realize that she had peed all over the black muslin and the pillows below it.  Ahhhhhhhh, the joys of motherhood!

This was our favorite shot of the session.  It's not "perfect" but it is "perfectly" captured in our memories.

Happy Friday!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
