She's 3!!!

I can't believe my sweet girl is three! That thing that all the grown ups use to tell you about how fast time flies when you have your own kid...well it's true. I don't like to admit that I'm a grown up but I guess I am.

Ivy was so excited about her birthday party! She has recently become obsessed with birthdays and loves to sing "Happy Birthday" to me or other random people and bring imaginary presents for us to open. These imaginary presents are usually a little puppy or a little kitten and we act so shocked when she gives them to us and it just makes her day.

She was talking about her party a couple of weeks before it was suppose to happen...."Mommy! We have my party in 2 weeks okay?"

When people started arriving at the house for her party she was so excited she couldn't hardly stand it!  Every time a new kid would walk in she would say "You came to my party!  Give me a hug!"

It was all boys that showed up to Ivy's party but she didn't mind.  They spent a lot of the time out in the back yard kicking balls around and just running and playing like kids do.  They used sidewalk chalk and made sand art.  They loved the sand art!  It was messy but I think just me and the kids were the only ones that didn't mind that.  Everyone else had a look on there face like "Oh my goodness...What is she thinking?"  But it was all good, the kids loved it and all we had to do was sweep the spilled sand into the grass...easy clean up!  Not quite sure where the camera was during all this...shame on you Chris.

And her Grammie made a very delicious cake...Neapolitan flavor with some super yummy icing and she even let Ivy help put the decorations on it. Ivy was more than thrilled with that!  Oh!  And Grammie also made Ivy's beautiful dress too!

Ivy was so excited when I asked her if she was ready for her cake and to blow out her candles.  Anytime I have a candle lit in the house she is obsessed with blowing it out and will not hush until I finally give in.

But she seemed a little taken aback and shy when we lit the candles and she realized that they really were for her and everyone was singing  to her.

And then she asked me to help her, which I know she didn't need any help but it made her feel a little more secure about the whole thing.  And then I let her lick her candles and she took that very seriously!

All the kids seemed to love the cake...but then again what kid doesn't?

But she did offer to share some with her Paw Paw

Logan had no problem hammin' it up for the camera...but hey when you're this cute why not ham it up?

Noah wasn't so sure about Chris being in his face but he's still adorable.

And then there is sweet little Jacob, my friend Jenny's boy.  Check out those baby blues.

When it was gift time I was a little surprised when Ivy kept asking Noah and Logan to help her.  But that's what she wanted and they weren't bothered by it at all.  And lets just say that Ivy was thrilled...she was overloaded with Disney Princess and Tinkerbell stuff...her two favorites!

And when everyone had left we had to bust out the Tinkerbell tent and Cinderella's castle! She loves to hide in the tent with some toys now and she loves Cinderella's castle so much we are worried she might drop out of school so that she can stay home to play with it....just kidding.

Trying to help Daddy put it together.

Calling Tinkerbell on her new walkie talkie
Oh yeah!  And the highlight of the party....Uncle Cliff called all the way from Afghanistan right during the middle of it and she got to talk to him!  :)

More Birthday fun to come soon!

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. It started out as a blog to keep my family and friends updated on the happenings in the Ward house while Chris and I raise our daughter Ivy, but it's turned into a little more than that for me. So sit back and enjoy because I'll be sharing all kinds of moments and memories from our life and keeping people as updated as I can on my brother Clifford, while he is deployed to Afghanistan.
While my stories may not always be happy, funny, or inspirational they are real. And it's pretty good therapy for me to write how I feel about things. So please excuse all my typos and run on sentences because I usually type like I talk and I don't stress too much over my grammatical errors. I hope everyone enjoys and keeps reading...oh, and leave me a comment, it makes my day!
